Abstract
This interview, of American playwright Janet
Neipris, concentrates on the research, writing, development, and
production of Neipris’s play A Small Delegation, which is set in
contemporary China and was staged in Beijing. As the interview reveals,
in A Small Delegation Neipris explores Sino-American relations on
political, professional, and personal levels. In the interview, Neipris
sheds light on the difficulties and rewards of building international
bridges through playwriting and performance.
