| Abstract: | The digital transformation of the main sectors of economic and social life and the evolution of artificial intelligence undoubtedly bring benefits and advantages for citizens, companies, and public authorities. However, these advantages have come with threats and attacks on computer networks and systems, as well as on critical state infrastructure. Cyberspace is an environment characterized by insecurity and asymmetry, with risks and threats that are among the most recent in terms of national and international security. Also, cybersecurity is that part of national security that relates to the opportunities, threats, and means of defending cyber infrastructure and information. Enhanced international cooperation is essential for effectively preventing and combating cyber threats and attacks. As organized crime is more dangerous and difficult to dismantle, international organizations, member states, private companies, and citizens must take coordinated and coherent action to effectively combat cybercrime, cyberterrorism, and hybrid warfare, which has begun to gain momentum. Investing in qualified human resources in the field of cybersecurity, both in the public and private sectors, is also crucial. Cybersecurity measures must ensure a secure virtual environment that provides real support for maximizing the benefits to citizens, the business community, and society as a whole. |
